The date that you’ve been waiting for has been revealed. The Witcher will return to Netflix with season two on December 17th. Netflix and CD Projekt Red brought together the world of The Witcher for Witchercon, their first virtual convention talking all things Witcher. Witchercon started with a panel for the Netflix TV show.

Season two promises to bring many new characters, and we got to meet one of the actors joining the cast. Paul Bullion joins the cast as Lambert, a fellow Witcher. Bullion talks of scenes where we get to see the family aspect of the Witchers, in their homestead of Kaer Morhen. It’s here where Ciri will begin her training to become a Witcher. Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich wanted the Witchers to almost feel like a military family. They never really know if their brothers will return home, but when they’re together, they feel like actual brothers, rough housing and teasing one another. Schmidt Hissrich says that they are “a family through shared experiences.”

Now that we know that season two is still many months away, the sneak peeks for the season are pretty small. The Witcher world has many monsters, and a new one is coming to the Netflix series. Season two will introduce the Leshy, a forest monster. The peek from Netflix was just that, a peek. It was very difficult to see many details, and we didn’t get a look at the whole monster. Fans of the books and games may have caught more details, but Netflix is still holding the rest close to the vest.

The final reveal we got was from Joey Batey. In season one, Jaskier gave us the infamous “Toss A Coin to Your Witcher,” and we were singing it for months. In season two, Jaskier gets a new look, which he describes as a bit more rock and roll. Jaskier is seen in a long red leather coat, as he’s belting out a new tune (I hope).

Stay tuned for more from Witchercon with Netflix and CD Projekt Red. We haven’t heard from Henry Cavill yet, so more reveals may be on the way!
